The Control 2007 Architecture

Control 2007 has an enterprise architecture which is capable of scaling from the smallest department to the largest multi-national organization.

Control 2007 Server
The data is managed in several repositories; process; document and file; metric and scorecard; and information framework.

The process repository holds process diagrams and all process related information (resources, metadata, access rights, workflow actions).

The document and file repository holds all files related to processes (forms, templates, application links, policy documents etc.).

The metric and scorecard repository holds scorecards; metrics; trend data; and links to external data sources such as Cognos; Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 (or its predecessor Microsoft Business Scorecard Manager); SAP BW; etc.

The information framework repository holds compliance, risk, technical and other external data frameworks and their links to processes within the process repository (ISO9000, ISO14000, CMMi Etc.)

Web Server / Browser (Stakeholder)
This presents all information to any browser enabled user. It has been designed with scalability, ease of use and minimal IT admin overhead in mind. It has been tuned for large-scale use through memory and disk image cache. The server allows interaction using only HTML and JavaScript and does not rely on any ActiveX controls. The Enterprise Server runs on top of Internet Information Server (IIS).

Control 2007 client (Author)
This is used to capture, analyze, report and extract content. The Workshop Client can run in standalone mode where the databases are hosted on the local machine for live mapping workshops, and can then be synchronized to the central server. The Enterprise Client operates across the network using shared drives, UNC paths or via Citrix Terminal Services for a global deployment over the internet.
