European oil major

Development of Information Management system for sales, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain for European division across 23 country operations. Provided training and consultancy to BP inhouse change management team. Facilitated workshops to capture and improve processes. 

Phase 2 2007/08 Rollout of Information Management System across 23 European countries including traing core team and development IMS platform for specific country requirements.

Phase 3 Planned for 2009 Roll out to Lubricants Asia: India, China, 

Benefits: Improved operational and supply chain process efficiency. Cost reductions achieved.


Infrastructure Asset Management Company

Pathfinder. Developed process and performance management system for the Infrastructure Services business. Implemented control 2007 system - provided training in process management and use of the system. Facilitated workshops to capture and improve operational and support business processes. 
Developed links between process and performance measures. Carried out Lean improvement projects on the recruitment and CRM process.

Benefits: Improved operational process efficiency. Achieved savings of over £100,000. Significantly improved staff usage of the management system.


Engineering Design Consultancy

Developed an integrated management system for the business including the complete engineering design process. Reviewed and improved the company management, H&S and QA procedures ISO9001 and 14001, integrating these with the design process, resulting in a 30% reduction in QA documentation. Identified the key design process links with external consultants, clients and contractors. Identified and linked Key Performance Indicators to the key process steps.

Benefits: Improved profitability through process efficiency, consistency of service delivery and single source of the truth for key design information.


Major International Building & Civil Engineering Contractor

The way we work. Developing and improving core processes for business strategy, design and construction management. Facilitated workshops to develop the strategy and processes for supply chain management.

Benefits: The pilot project identified areas of process improvement to the value of £1m


International Business and Engineering Consultancy

Established the structure of the Information Management System for the Highways business.  Provided training in process and performance management to Buisness Improvement team. Carried out an audit on the system

Benefits: Improved operational process efficiency. Significantly improved staff usage of the management system.


International Architectural Practice and Planning Consultants

Developing lean processes for the core design business including company strategy, sales, marketing, and support processes for HR, finance IT and and knowledge resources. In addition to the core processes, sections were developed for support processes including HR, Finance, IT and knowledge management.

Benefits: The development of the core and support processes has improved the consistency of service delivery, reduced waste in the design process and provided the staff with easy access to a single source of key information.


University Estates department.

Developed a gateway process for the management of capital and refurbishment projects with the estates project team.

Benefits: Improved consistency of project delivery at reduced costs and delivery times. Reduced risk to the University of project cost overrun.


I.T Development Project - Financial Services ASP Provider

Development of the business process maps to enable the preparation of detailed functional and technical software design requirements documents. The development, in collaboration with department heads, of the business processes maps to achieve effective internal communications and quality control, for the sales, software implementation and customer support processes.

Benefits: Consistency of service delivery, reduced risk


Housing Association

Reviewed the development and maintenance processes for the Association and provided recommendations for change to enable the Association to adopt the principles for partnering as identified in the Egan report Rethinking Construction. Reviewed the supply chain and developed selection procedures for a partnered supply chain with design consultants, suppliers contractors and subcontractors.

Benefits: Improved efficiency of service delivery


Project Management Consultancy

The development and improvement of the company's Project Management process from project inception through to completion. Developed new and improved internal management procedures. Facilitated workshops with the project management teams to capture current best practice and established the change management procedure for improved project processes.

Benefits: Consistency of service delivery, identified ownership of key interfaces in the development process.


Major Building & Civil Engineering Contractor

The development and improvement of the company's marketing tendering and construction process. Prepared detailed process improvement maps for the company's HSEQ upgrade to ISO 9001/2000

Benefits: Generated savings of £40,000


Civil Engineering Contractor. Train care maintenance depot £12m

Developed the design and statutory approval process for the signalling infrastructure works. Process map was developed in collaboration with the designers', client, contactors, subcontractors and statutory approval bodies.

Benefits: The map identified the bottlenecks in the approval process and enabled actions to be taken which avoided delays and penalties.
